Blessings of Umrah in Islam

Blessings of Umrah in IslamUmrah is considered to be the most beautiful Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAWW and is performed by a million of Muslims throughout the year. Umrah also known as Minor Hajj can be performed at any time in the whole year except the five days of Hajj. Muslims from all across the world come to Madina and Mecca the two beloved cities of the Holy Prophet SAWW for the fulfillment of this spiritual Sunnah.  The Sunnah is performed with a great desire, love, affection and gratitude to please the Lord o theirs Who had created us all. Each and every Muslim except with full heart that he or she might be listed in those who are the favorite of their Lord. The journey itself is full of blessings and peace. Also, there are a number of rewards and blessings mentioned in Shariah of the performance of Umrah whole heartedly. The honor of calling Mu’tamir (the one who performed Umrah) is the most honorable of all honors and if a person perform Hajj or Umrah with pure intentions then he or she can have a pure heart as a child.

Amputation of poverty and troubles:

The journey to Umrah not only brings peace and harmony for your inner-self but also prospers you in the outer world. The trip to Madinah adds barakah in your doings. Ibn-e- Abbas RA narrated that Hazrat Muhammad SAWW said;

“Perform Hajj and Umrah serially; for they eradicate poverty and sins as bellows eradicate impurity from iron.”

It’s not that Muslims perform Umrah and Hajj for the sake of their better financial position but it can be referred as an additional blessing of these holy journeys besides of their other numerous blessings. People that perform Umrah keeps on telling about the changes that occurred to them not the changes in their behaviors, attitude, thoughts and perspective to view the world but also that their financial problems that were crumbles after performing with best Umrah Packages .

The lucky Invitee by the Most Beneficial Inviter:

It should be kept in mind that Madina is the home of the Almighty and you can only enter in someone’s home with their permission. So, if the Almighty who had created us all permit us to visit His home, only then we will be able to be on this Holy Journey. Visiting Madina and performing Umrah is only possible by the will of Allah Almighty. It is therefore, an honor to be the guest of the Lord at His place. Hazrat Abu Huraira RA narrated that Allah’s Messenger SAWW said;

“The invitees of Allah are three; the Ghazi, the Hajji and the Mu’tamir.”

Ghazis are the ones who are the warriors of Allah, who fights in His way for the needy and feeble. Hajjis are the pilgrims who perform Hajj and Mu’tamir are the pilgrims who perform Umrah just to get the Blessings of their Lord.

Death become virtue:

Umrah is that Holy journey during which death can also be a pro. If one passes away in their journey of Umrah or after reaching Madina, the blessings for them is Jannah. As Prophet Muhammad SAWW said;

“Whoever leaves his home only for the sake of performance of Hajj or Umrah and dies, nothing will presented to him or will he have any accountability on the day of Reckoning and it will be said to him, enter into Jannah”.

Equivalent to Jihad in certain cases:

In Islam, Jihad is the greatest feasts and action of a man showing his valor and bravery in the path of his Lord. The significance and eminence of Jihad is beyond the boundaries an individual can imagine. It is clearly said by the Allah Almighty in Quran Kareem that a Shaheed (the one who sacrificed his life in the way of Allah) should not be called dead as he is alive but others do not have knowledge about that. But in some situations, Umrah for some Muslims has given a degree of Jihad; the most loveable journey by Allah Almighty. Hazrat Abu Huraira RA had narrated from Hazrat Muhammad SAWW that he said;

“Jihad of the elderly, the young, the feeble and the women is Hajj and Umrah”.

This is the beauty of Islam that those who are not able to perform Jihad but has a desire to do so, can be awarded by the same blessings as of Jihad by visiting the home of Allah Almighty. Those who are not strong or capable to go on Jihad can overcome their desire by visiting Madina.

Penitence of sins:

This is without a doubt that Umrah and Hajj are the means to remove the sins that are even forgivable. Allah Almighty has given an opportunity to His people to cleanse their souls and so to be graced to be forgiven for their sins. Hazrat Abu Huraira RA narrated that Holy Prophet SAWW said;

“From one Umrah to another is penitence for what comes in between, and Hajj Al- Mabrur’ brings no reward less than Heaven”.

Soul Cleaner:

Performing Umrah is the best way to clean your soul and to remove your sins. It cleanses one’s soul from the crimes or evils he committed in the past. Umrah is advised to do more than once in a lifetime in order to wash your sins. It is said that the time during one Umrah till the next one a human’s soul remains as pure and clean as a child.

Multiplied blessings in Ramadhan:

Ramadhan is the month of blessings and barakahas. The virtues of even tiny things multiplied to several hundreds to thousands times. Performing Umrah in the month of Ramadhan has the reward of performing Hajj in regular days and brings countless blessings to the pilgrims. One of the strongest hadith narrated by Ibn-e- Abbas depicts that Hazrat Muhammad SAWW said;

“Umrah performed during the month of Ramadhan will be equal (in means of reward) to that of Hajj or a Hajj performed by Me SAWW.”

Best deed to perform:

Among the most treasured deeds done by the Muslims by the Allah Almighty, performing Umrah is the most Lovable. Ibn –e- Umar RA narrated that the Allah’s Messenger said;

“the warrior in the path of Allah, the pilgrims and the one who is performing Umrah all are the delegations of Allah Almighty. He summoned them and they responded and they will ask of his bestowals and He SAWW will give it to them.”
